3 Underrated Things to Do in DC (other than District CrossFit)
We figured since you're in DC you might be looking for something to do while you're here. These are just 3 (somewhat touristy but definitely awesome) things to do if you have some time to kill.
1.) The Newseum.
The Newseum is basically a museum about the news (get it now?). It's located right next to the Capital downtown so you can also get to lots of other neat stuff from there. It's not one of the Smithsonians (so you'll have to pay for it) but it's well worth it. You can kill 2 hours alone just looking at the Hall of Pulitzer Prize winning photographs. They also have rotating exhibitions about various news-related things and all sorts of neat stuff. It's definitely one of the most underrated attractions in DC.
Arlington Cemetery is pretty popular but it's very very cool and well worth it. The history is amazing (did you it was Robert E. Lee's home?) but the amazing tours are just part of it. There's also the Changing of the Guard which is a must see if you make it over there. It's not exactly the most convenient (although there is a Metro stop right there) but it's worth the effort for sure.
3.) SW Wharf
The SW Wharf is a BRAND spanking new. Not only is it super cool and well laid out but it's got some of the best restaurants and bars in the city. Our best guess is that DC is trying to make this a super "artsy" part of town (which DC doesn't really have) but this does pretty well in it's stay. There's a huge concert venue The Anthem with major acts but also smaller spots like Pearl Street Warehouse where you can find live music and good food/drinks. Overall you can't miss and it's SUPER CLOSE to DCF so it's an easy trip.
Anyway you're probably not here for long but if you have some time you won't go wrong with any of those options.
